Pleats in D.C.
The past three days my boyfriend and I have been exploring Washington D.C. It is the first stop of our weeklong road trip from Pennsylvania to Florida. We woke up early to shoot this outfit at the Lincoln Memorial. If you are ever visiting D.C., I would highly suggest beating the crowds by getting to the memorials a little after or before sunrise (The monuments are open 24-hours). We were practically the only ones there besides the people working out on the stairs.
This outfit was not only easy and breezy for a hot summer day in D.C. but perfect for a day of museum hopping and walking miles and miles the entire day. I’ve had been searching for a black pleated skirt for a while now; so, when I found these pleated pants (that at times look like a skirt) I knew I had to have them. I love their unique style, and the movement they create when walking is awesome. To battle the summer heat I wore this white cotton cutout blouse that may or may not have left me with some serious tan lines. But I do love a good black and white combination!
Our next stop is Charleston, South Carolina! If anyone has any tips or places to see leave me a comment! I’ll be writing a blog post of my favorite spots in D.C. so stay tuned!
